- François-Xavier Bouchart, Léon Claude Vénézia, working-class Paris
From 1967 to 1977, two young photographers, François-Xavier Bouchart (1946-1993) and Léon Claude Vénézia (1941-2013) walked the streets of working-class Paris, mainly those of what were the villages of Belleville and Ménilmontant. They documented the effervescence of local life, the urban fabric in full metamorphosis where the buildings, often unsanitary, and the colorful storefronts of the shops would give way to the sad HLM tower blocks.
Sixty-five contemporary prints offered in a limited edition of fifteen copies.
